Team Sri Lanka

As the world gears up for the Summer Olympics 2024 in Paris, Sri Lanka proudly sends off its delegation of six talented athletes, ready to compete on the global stage. The selected athletes, representing a variety of disciplines, are set to inspire and unite the nation with their performances.
Ganga Senavirathna and Kyle Abeysinghe, the national swimmers, departed together on 14th July. Viren Neththsinghe, the promising badminton player, will depart solo on 18th July. The national athletics team, comprising Aruna Darshana, Tharushi Karunarathna, and Dilhani Lekamge, will depart together on 24th July.
Leading the Sri Lankan team as flag bearers in the opening ceremony will be Viren Nettasinghe and Dilhani Lekamge. Viren, with his exemplary skills in badminton, and Dilhani, as the team leader and the highest-ranking figure in athletics for Sri lanka, embody the spirit and determination of the Sri Lankan athletes.

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC SL) was inaugurated on 8th April 1937 at a meeting of representatives of Athletic, Swimming and Boxing Associations. As resolved on this day, the first meeting of the Ceylon Olympic and Empire Games Association was held on 30th April 1937.
