Sport Administration Course - 2024, for Physical Education Teachers under Training at Teachers Training College

The National Olympic Committee (NOC) Sri Lanka is proud to announce the successful completion of its Olympic Education Programme aimed at empowering physical education teachers with essential knowledge on ‘Olympism’ and the Management and Administration of sports and physical education. This course was held at the Uva National College of Education, Bandarawela, on October 25th and 26th, 2024.
A total of 35 dedicated physical Education trainee teachers are participated in the programme. This initiative reflects our commitment to fostering a deeper understanding of sports management within our education system.
The curriculum covered a variety of essential topics, including the Olympic Background and Future Structure and Functions of the Olympic Movement, Olympic Values, Managing Environment, Management of Resources, Management of Activities and Sport Science.
These subjects are highly relevant to the daily tasks and challenges faced by physical education teachers in their careers.
The entire course was expertly delivered by Prof. B.L.H. Perera, Academic Director, NOC Sri Lanka with valuable assistance from Mr. Pethum Weerakkody, Lecturer, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka over the course of the two engaging days.
We are excited about the impact this training will have on the quality of physical education in Sri Lanka and look forward to seeing our educators implement what they have learned in their schools.
