Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic intern to support the administrative functions of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC Sri Lanka) / Commonwealth Games Association of Sri Lanka (CGA Sri Lanka). This internship offers aspiring sports management professionals a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in sports administration, event coordination, and project management.

 

The selected intern will acquire valuable career experience, develop professional skills, and build a strong network within the sports industry. The ideal candidate is someone passionate about sports management, eager to learn, and equipped with excellent communication skills.

 

1. Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:


    ' Be an undergraduate from the Department of Sports Sciences & Physical Education, Faculty of Applied Sciences at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka.

    ' Be in their 3rd or final year of study.

    ' Be available to commit to the full duration of the internship programme as specified by CGF eqUIP and CGA Sri Lanka.

 

2. Qualifications and Competencies

The ideal candidate must demonstrate the following:


    ' Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory. Proficiency in Sinhala and/or Tamil/ or any other language is an added advantage.

    ' Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email.

    ' Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    ' Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    ' Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.

    ' A proactive learning attitude—eager to learn from others while also taking initiative.

    ' General knowledge of sports administration and event management.

 

3. Responsibilities


    ' Frequent communication with athletes and National Federations in person or via telephone 

    ' Project report, meeting minutes and letters writings

    ' Attend/ participate in meetings requested by the supervisor

    ' Arrange meetings with the relevant parties of the assigned projects according to the requirement

    ' Update athletes +plus one (Zeus) database on daily basis to maintain athletes’ data in order

    ' Attend the duties related to the CGA Sri Lanka regularly

    ' Maintain and review documentation on athletes’ reports on regular basis

    ' Other responsibilities as assigned

    ' Creating an Academic Alumni network [NOA, Admin, and ASMC]

    ' Maintain the stakeholders (NFs, athletes, other org, etc.) contact database

4. Application Requirements and Process


    ' Submission of a comprehensive CV and a cover letter in English, detailing relevant experiences and motivations for applying.

    ' Applications must be submitted in PDF format to games@olympic.lk 

    ' All application materials must be received by the deadline. Late submissions will not be considered.
