Media Accreditation Process for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games

The Commonwealth Games Association of Sri Lanka wishes to remind all media personnel of the official media accreditation process announced by the Glasgow 2026 Organising Committee.
 
All applications must be submitted directly through the official Glasgow 2026 accreditation system, as this process is fully managed by the Organising Committee.
 
Please note that CGA Sri Lanka will not be handling or processing any media accreditations, as this is a direct process managed by the Glasgow 2026 Organising Committee.
 
 
Who Can Apply

    ' This accreditation process is open to:

    ' Written and online press 

    ' Photographers and photo technicians 

    ' Non-rights holding TV broadcasters 

    ' Non-rights holding radio broadcasters 

    ' Content creators 

    ' Podcasters 

Content creators and podcasters should note that, if approved, they will be classified under the Non-Rights Holding Broadcaster (ENR) category, as their work involves moving images and sound.
 
Rights holding broadcasters are advised to contact their organisation’s accreditation liaison officer directly.
 
 
Accreditation Categories
 
At Games-time, media will be accredited under three categories:

    ' Press (E) 

    ' Photographer (Ep) 

    ' Non-Rights Holder (ENR) 

All accredited media must adhere to News Access Rules, including restrictions on recording and publishing content from Games venues, in order to protect broadcast rights agreements.
 
 
Application Process
 

    ' The application is a simple, one-step individual process 

    ' Applications are reviewed directly by the Glasgow 2026 team 

    ' Applicants will be notified of the outcome via email 

    ' Approved applicants will receive further details regarding pass collection 

Important:
All individuals, including those who may have previously submitted details through other channels, are required to apply again directly through the official accreditation link.

Please ensure you have the following ready:

    ' Passport or UK driving licence details 

    ' A passport-style photograph (as per accreditation guidelines) 

    ' Your personal contact details 

    ' Your organisation’s contact details, including assigning editor 

 
Applicants will also be required to agree to:

    ' Accreditation Privacy Notice 

    ' Media Accreditation Terms and Conditions 

 
Key Details

    ' Estimated time to complete application: 10 minutes 

    ' Application deadline: Midnight (BST), 24 April 2026 

    ' Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, so early submission is encouraged
