Japan Lanka Friendship Association Delegation Visits Sri Lanka, Strengthening Bonds and Fostering Collaboration

Colombo, Sri Lanka - May 24, 2024 - The Japan Lanka Friendship Association delegation (JLFA), comprising 11 members, including prominent business leaders and entrepreneurs, concluded a successful visit to Sri Lanka from May 23rd to 29th. The delegation, led by President Goto Hideaki of Sun TEC Bios Corporation Company Limited, and President Jin Songyue of A-Globe Company Limited, engaged in a series of meetings with key stakeholders in Sri Lanka.
A highlight of the visit was a meeting with Mr. Maxwell, Secretary General of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC Sri Lanka), on May 24th. During the meeting, the JLFA delegation presented 100 units of spectacles to the NOC Sri Lanka, which will be utilized to support athletes in Sri Lanka. The delegation also discussed ways to collaborate with the NOC in preparation for the Asian Games, scheduled to take place in Aichi Prefecture, Japan in 2026.
The JLFA delegation expressed their enthusiasm for supporting Sri Lankan athletes and teams in the upcoming Asian Games, with a focus on providing assistance in areas such as training, equipment, and nutrition. The NOC representatives appreciated the gesture and looked forward to exploring potential collaborations.
"We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to meet with the JLFA delegation and discuss ways to strengthen our partnership," said Mr. Maxwell, Secretary General of the NOC. "We believe that this collaboration will benefit our athletes and teams in their pursuit of excellence."
The JLFA delegation included representatives from various industries, including technology, finance, and healthcare. They also met with other key stakeholders in Sri Lanka, including government officials, business leaders, and entrepreneurs.
The visit was a significant milestone in the friendship between Japan and Sri Lanka, and both sides are committed to building on this momentum to foster stronger ties and promote mutual understanding.
