OBITUARY NOTICE
It is with profound sorrow and deep regret that the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC Sri Lanka) and the Commonwealth Games Association of Sri Lanka (CGA Sri Lanka) announce the passing of Mr. Suresh Subramaniam, Honorary Life President of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka and the Commonwealth Games Association of Sri Lanka.
Mr. Subramaniam was an outstanding sports administrator and a visionary leader who dedicated many years of distinguished service to the Olympic and Commonwealth Games movements in Sri Lanka. His unwavering commitment, exemplary leadership, and invaluable contributions played a pivotal role in the growth and development of sport in the country, while strengthening Sri Lanka's standing within the international sporting community.
His passing is an immense loss to the entire sporting fraternity. Mr. Subramaniam will be remembered with immense respect for his integrity, wisdom, and steadfast dedication to the Olympic values and the advancement of sport in Sri Lanka.
The President, Executive Committee, Member Federations, athletes, officials, and staff of the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka and the Commonwealth Games Association of Sri Lanka extend their heartfelt condolences to his beloved family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
His remains will lie at his residence (18/185 Centre road, Dabare Mawatha, Colombo 05, Narahenpita) from 11:00 AM on Thursday, 16 July.
A funeral service will be held at home on Friday, 17 July at 2:00 PM, followed by cremation at the General Cemetery Kanatte (New Crematorium) at 3:30 PM.
