The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC) is bound by the Olympic Charter. The mission of the NOC is to develop, promote and protect the Olympic Movement in accordance with the Olympic Charter. In order to fulfil its mission, the NOC cooperate with governmental and non-governmental bodies with which they shall achieve harmonious relations. NOC’s primary role is to promote the fundamental principles and values of Olympism in particular in the fields of sport and education by promoting Olympic educational programmes at all levels of schools, sports and physical education institutions and universities by encouraging the creation of institutions dedication to Olympic education.
The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC) invites dynamic, adaptable and an experienced individual instilled with sports background for the post of hybrid General Manager to join our management team. The candidate report to the Board of Governance should possess exceptional leadership and competence while seamlessly integrating our senior management team to contribute expertise to develop, promote, and protect the Olympic and Sport Movement in Sri Lanka thus, inspire Sri Lankans through Olympism and Sport.
Job Summary:
As the General Manager of NOC will play a pivotal role in shaping the institution’s operations, growth, and overall success. Responsible for overseeing various aspects of the institute’s day-to-day activities, ensuring efficient operations, and fostering a strong connection between the NOC and its stakeholders and the broader community. Also be responsible for the commercial success of the institute, helping to generate income and sustainability. Responsibilities:
Develop and execute, along with the Executive Board and the General Membership, a long-term strategic plan for the NOC, aligning with the institute’s vision and values
' Oversee the day-to-day operations of the institute, including finances, administration, and general resources by coordinating respective departments functions thus optimize processes involved in day-to-day operational activities
' Foster strong relationships with the national sports clubs, federations, schools, and corporates to promote the NOC positive impact and engagement while finding effective solutions to ensure the well-being and stability of national athletes and officials
' Manage the institute’s finances, including financial targets and budgeting in liaison with the Finance Manager
' Generating income for the institute which may include fundraising as well as bringing in sponsorships and commercial partnerships in compliance with IOC and NOC constitution and agreed targets
' Manage hiring and training, monitoring and assess performance, pay and rewards, staff succession plan, staff discipline and addressing operational challenges
' Ensure the NOC complies with all relevant stipulated regulations including governing bodies
' To actively work with the administrative manager on the maintenance, development, security and protection of the NOC facilities including fixed assets

Work closely with the media and the commercial team to promote the NOC through various channels, including social media, press releases, and community events while stay focus on mission of promoting and fostering sports in Sri Lanka
Qualifications and Competencies
' A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management/Operations/Sports or a similar field along with a related MBA from a recognized University
' Proven hands-on experience in leadership role either in a corporate environment or defense sector, or reputed sports organization served over a period of 25 years or more
' Strong management skills, the ability to thrive under pressure, and capacity to work independently
' Financial management skills and budgeting experience
' Problem-solving and decision-making abilities
' Flexibility and adaptability to changing situations and unforeseen challenges
' Strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop networks and team building
' A commitment to the institute’s values and vision
' Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships within a broad range of key stakeholders
'
Preferably carries proven track record in the field of multiple sports discipline
Salary: Nominal at the commencement and Negotiable

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC SL) was inaugurated on 8th April 1937 at a meeting of representatives of Athletic, Swimming and Boxing Associations. As resolved on this day, the first meeting of the Ceylon Olympic and Empire Games Association was held on 30th April 1937.
