Call for Applications: International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program (ICECP) 2026-2027

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka is pleased to inform you that applications are now open for the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program (ICECP) for 2026-2027.
 
The mission of ICECP is to provide national level coaches and those responsible for the development of the sport national coaching structures in their countries with a practical program orientated towards developing proficiency in the areas of sport sciences, talent identification, athlete development, coaching education, coaching management, grass roots sport development and ethical aspects of coaching at all levels of competition and across multiple sports.
 
The focus of the program includes training participants to identify and develop athletes, but also provides the participants with the skills and competencies needed to educate aspiring coaches in their home country.
 
The program will lay theoretical foundations and offer practical applications for the further growth of sport and the Olympic ideals within their home country. The intended outcome is for ICECP participants to return to their countries and to serve as coaches within their respective sports as wexll as become foundation builders for future coaches and athletes while spreading the Olympic spirit.
 
The ICECP is open to coaches from all sports that operate in the Olympic programming.
 
 
2026 Program Dates:

    ' NOC Sri Lanka's Application Deadline: 02 February 2026

    ' International Deadline: 15 February 2026

    ' Module 1: 07 April 2026, Virtual

    ' Module 2: 17 – 22 September 2026, University of Delaware;

    ' Module 3: 23 – 27 September 2026, University of Delaware;

    ' Module 4: 27 September - 3 October 2026 at Designated Apprenticeship Sites;

    ' Module 5: April - May 2027 in IOC Headquarters, Lausanne, Switzerland

 
Application Process:
 
Candidate profile
 
The candidate for an Olympic Solidarity scholarship should be a coach with the following characteristics. They must:

    ' Be fluent in reading, writing and speaking in English; (Interviews will be performed to ensure English proficiency);

    ' Belong to a federation of a sport on the Olympic programme;

    ' Hold the rank of official coach recognized in their country of origin and/or by the respective International Federation;

    ' Be active and able to prove that he/she has practical experience as a coach at national/international level;

    ' Submit ICECP Application Summary Form; [After filling out here --> https://sites.udel.edu/icecp/apply/]

    ' Submit Curriculum Vitae;

    ' Submit copy of passport;

    ' Submit medical certificate;

    ' Submit letter of support from National Federation.

 
Interested candidates are encouraged to first submit their initial applications at https://sites.udel.edu/icecp/apply/. After submission, kindly share a copy of your application along with the required documents listed above. The applications should reach Secretary General, “Sri Lanka Olympic House”, 100/9F Independence Avenue, Colombo 7 or email to education@olympic.lk no later than 4:00 p.m. on 02 February, 2026.
 
 
In addition, after completing the above two application steps, applicants must email the following documents to the USOPC Global Engagement Team at icecp-ud@udel.edu:

    ' Copy of the completed ICECP application endorsed by the NOC

    ' Curriculum Vitae

    ' Copy of passport

    ' Medical certificate

    ' Letter of support from the NOC

    ' Letter of support from the respective National Federation

 
Please note that applications received after the deadline will not be considered for the selection process.

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC SL) was inaugurated on 8th April 1937 at a meeting of representatives of Athletic, Swimming and Boxing Associations. As resolved on this day, the first meeting of the Ceylon Olympic and Empire Games Association was held on 30th April 1937.
