We would like to inform you that the applications have been called for the following programmes.
1) 14th IOC Advanced Team Physician Course and 12th IOC Course on Cardiovascular Evaluation of Olympic Athletes
The IOC Medical and Scientific Department is organising two courses designed specifically for NOC doctors: the 14th Advanced Team Physician Course which is being held in Medellín, Colombia, from 7-9 November 2023 followed by the 12th IOC Course on Cardiovascular Evaluation of Olympic Athletes 10-11 November 2023.

The NOC Sri Lanka could recommend only ONE nominee through an selection process to the International Olympic Committee – Olympic Solidarity (IOC – OS) for financial support to cover the tuition fee. However, kindly note that the sponsorship is subject to the acceptance of the IOC – OS. If not the candidate has to bear the expenses related to the programme. If so, the interested candidates (only Sri Lankan citizens) can submit their application in the attached form on or before 9th September 2023 together with the recommendation letter from the NF/ organisation, CV included their sport background, passport copy, photograph (headshot), covering letter from the candidate. Please note that applications receiving after the deadline of 9th September 2023 will not consider for the selection process.
2) IOC Diploma in Sports Medicine (2 year)
The Diploma course is offered by Distance Learning on a part-time basis, and takes two years to complete. Programme duration is 1st October 2023 to Autumn 2025.

The Diploma course is offered by Distance Learning on a part-time basis, and takes two years to complete. Programme starts on 1st February 2024 and Graduation is in Spring 2026.

5) IOC Certificate in Mental Health in Elite Sport
A Certificate program offered by Distance Learning. This program is distinct from the International Olympic Committee Diploma Program on Mental Health in Elite Sport, which is a more comprehensive program designed for physicians and licensed practitioners who are qualified to provide mental health services. For example, this Program is available to: physiotherapists, athletic trainers, kinesiologists, chiropractors, nutritionists, dieticians, physiologists and other sport scientists, and coaches. The IOC Certificate in Mental Health in Elite Sport is an ongoing program and students can enroll at any date. Examination dates will be held in December, March, June and September each year. Students can take the examination no sooner than 3 months from the date of their enrolment and must take the examination within 12 months from that date.

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC SL) was inaugurated on 8th April 1937 at a meeting of representatives of Athletic, Swimming and Boxing Associations. As resolved on this day, the first meeting of the Ceylon Olympic and Empire Games Association was held on 30th April 1937.
