13th South Asian Games Inaugurated

The South Asian Games returned to the city of its birth after three-and-a-half decades at the Main Games Centre at Dasharath Rangashala Tripureshwor, Kathmandu today midst pomp and pageant when its 13th version was declared opened by the president of Nepal Bidhya Devi Bhandari.

The games which were inaugurated with only 5 disciplines now have developed into a spectacle where almost all Olympic sports and more are on stage.

With the games getting underway proper, the real action will be set in motion will be set in motion  tomorrow with women’s cricket in Pokhara, Football, Karate, Taekwondo, Tennis, Triathlon, Wushu and Table Tennis getting underway.

About us

The National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOC SL) was inaugurated on 8th April 1937 at a meeting of representatives of Athletic, Swimming and Boxing Associations. As resolved on this day, the first meeting of the Ceylon Olympic and Empire Games Association was held on 30th April 1937.
