As one of the spearheading national sports bodies in Asia, the Commonwealth Games Association of Sri Lanka has long stood as a beacon of athletic spirit and national pride on the global stage. It is with profound humility that I accept the responsibility of guiding this esteemed institution into a new era of distinction.
In today's fast-evolving world, characterized by digital transformation and ever-accelerating change, our core values of humanity, equality, and destiny must shine brighter than ever. The Commonwealth Games Movement reminds us that sporting contests carry far more than physical merit; they are a testament to the resilience of the human spirit.
Sri Lankan athletes have already embarked on a journey of international recognition, bringing home medals and moments of pride at past Commonwealth Games. But moving forward, success must be anchored in systemic support rather than sheer individual grit. It is our mission to cultivate a robust framework, spanning training, mentorship, policies, and infrastructure, that consistently nurtures world-class talent.
To our National Sports Federations, the message is clear: harness this abundant talent with vision and preparation to produce results. As the governing authority, the CGA Sri Lanka commits to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to elevate our presence on the Commonwealth stage.
